Excuse me, but first please provide a more perfect list.
There are lots of free high quality 3D open source games...and I see none of them.

Chickens!!!!

There are lots of people suggesting games like Enemy Territory or America's Army...neither are open source. Open source and free are not the same thing. Whilst ET and AA are free games, you are given the source code to neither, therefore they are NOT Open Source.

Saying that, as you don't pay for them are they really Commercial? And if not, where do we vote for them?

they are commercial. AA is payed for by your tax dollars, and possible your life.

If supertux had finally reached milestone 2, it might have won this one. But it still feels too rough imho.

Wesnoth has seen constant improvement this year and is really enjoyable in its current state. There is a very nice community around this game and a lot of fun custom scenarios.

It stole too much of my time already, though :)

i would vote for eternal-lands ... a very good MMORPG, but its not on there ... neither are some of my other favs

and i know im leaving out lots of those little fun games (as someone already said, chickens :D:D), nethack, penguin-command, and so on , its not that they are not fun, but they are either old (in that everyone knows about them) , or are not big games that deserve some spotlight

FlightGear.... it's still maturing, but useful with the goal of achieving FAA cert for instrument training and practical exams. Not just a game, aeroplanes behave like they do in real life, which comes as a bit of a shock to the other flightsimmers.

SuperTux is my pick out of these, but I've finished all the included levels - now I need to make some of my own.

ahh, i think some of the best open source games got left out: eternal lands, planshift, cube, armagetron, etc ..... maybe next year

Wesnoth took out three days of my life just like that after the exam session. My roommates actually felt offended because I didn't notice them arrive or leave. :D My saves disappeared recently though :(

It's got to be BZFlag from that list... it's one of the few where we have an advantage over XP users in live combat... well almost if you don't count lag..
