Boot up your Linux system.
Log in to the KDE X-Window System manager session.
Start konsole which is called "Linux Console" or "Terminal" from "System Tools".
From the menubar of konsole click "Settings".
Scroll down to "Configure Konsole".
Click the "Schema" tab.
In the textbox choose "Linux Colors" by scrolling to it and clicking on it.
On the right for the "Background" option choose "centered" or "tiled" or "full", whichever you prefer.
To select the image, browse to your image location with the "..." button by clicking on it with your mouse.
Navigate with the arrow buttons and/or click on "Desktop", "Home Folder", "Devices" or "Network" on the left, if that is where the image file is.
(The floppy option you will see is not recommended because if the floppy is not in and mounted the image won't be there when you start the Linux Console. (konsole))
Double-click the folders to navigate if your image file is not directly shown.
(Click the "Preview" checkbox so you can see if it is the image you are looking for.)
Click on the image file to preview it.
Double-click the image file to select it.
(The image path, complete with filename should now be in the Background image textbox.)
Click the "Save as Default" checkbox.
Click "Save Schema".
Click "Apply".
Click "Save" when prompted.
Click "OK" to complete the configuration.
