Yeah, I've noticed that. It's either a concerned Slackizen or a very immoral person:)

Actually delving deeper indicates he registered today.

It's a person who is playing games. I wont comment on their morality because that is subjective.

Yes - just look at the name - that is what they are doing with everyone here...

If we were to judge LQ members by their nicknames, some members of Slackware dev team might not get as much credit as they're due, LOL.

Well that is surely true! But in this case the name is more likely a not so subtle smirk...

Wow! This thread is like the feckin' energizer bunny. ;)

I say we take-off and nuke it from orbit. Only way to be sure!

Before anyone else starts screaming "you see, I knew it, Slackware is dead"... I have shutdown my "taper.alienbase.nl" mirror server because the server hosting that virtual machine is being moved to a different data center. It will be back up - Slackware is not dead and not dyimg either.

To be clear, by "Slackware" you are of course referring to both the distribution and the company, right? (I know you are, but this needs to be spelled out).

Also, this is (AFAIK) the first article by a journalist who has actually contacted Pat about the situation. All of the other previous ones have "researched" their articles solely by reading this thread.

It also talks about the people who have contacted Pat about hosting offers. Which two people on this forum have mentioned doing.

Slackware, the distro is very much alive, as can be seen in the ChangeLog.txt.
Slackware, the company is not dead either. As long as people keep buying enough stuff from the Store to pay the people who live from Slackware's earnings.
