Slackware Current: MATE Caja xsession spew
Willy,
In Current with MATE 1.24 packages, I see the following xsession-errors spew repeated a couple thousand times: Code:
Initializing caja-xattr-tags extension No related issues with Caja in Xfce. Kind of scratching my head where to start debugging. Thanks. |
I think it's just a log saying that the caja-extensions are being initialized and should not be an issue
|
Normally the messages occur only once, which I expect. I am seeing the message repeated a few thousand times.
|
hm.. i don't have any .xsession-errors file here
|
I installed Mate on a recent -current, now discarded VM. The mate-build-extra script failed halfway through. Not the first time that has happened. Do you remember this happening?
|
can you tell me which package did it stopped at?

Poking more into the original problem report has revealed nothing. A new dconf did not cure the log spew. Disabling all Caja extensions did not help.
I found an unresolved bug report. When launching Caja from the command line I see the following: Code:
Could not register the application: GDBus.Error:org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.UnknownMethod: No such interface 'org.gtk.Actions' on object at path /org/mate/Caja |
i removed caja-actions, which is EOL'ed by the maintainer. I guess that's the broken package reported earlier
