Slackware 13.37 - 64 bit only ?

Is there any way to chose between 64 and 32 bit versions of the iso installer ?

Thanks !

They're exactly the same programs.

The only difference it makes is in third-party binary applications - like flashplayer, or playing certain audio files.

It more depends on the hardware that you are currently using.

No there isn't. Slackware and Slackware64 are separate downloads and two distinct ISOs. If you're installing from an official Slackware DVD, then one side is 32-bit and the other side is 64-bit.

More information about this please.

I had some very old audio and video files that were part of a game from the early 90's. They required a windows dll file to be downloaded in order to play. That dll file was only available in 32-bit.

speaking of that -- wine only works in 32-bit because most windows applications are in 32-bit.

Actually - you can run wine in 64-bit - there just aren't many applications you can run in wine that are 64-bit only.

wine runs fine on slackware64. And it will run all applications that you are able to run on slackware32. Just set up slackware64 as a multilib environment and you're good to go. A few threads south of this one, you may even find my own thread where I had the trouble with running a certain application and was resolved.
