an interested request: is it possible to include libgomp.so.1 (from the gcc package) to the aaa_elflibs?
I'm asking because in one of my vms where I have done a minimal installation for web serving Imagemagick's convert seems now to link to it... |
lastest mesa-19.2.2-x86_64-1, some header files are missing, compare with previous version
Code:
usr/include/ |

Some years ago lilo got a slackware branding screen, why not add this awesome xdm slackware theme to the xdm package :-)

BUt that's a biased opinion of course. |
How about some Slackware wallpapers in /extra ? I am not very good at image manipulation but I'd like to see a community contribution of wallpapers included in the ISO because why not?

mkfontscale replaces some files from mkfontdir since version 1.2.0, bin/mkfontdir and man/mkfontdir are currently included in both packages.
mkfontscale now includes the mkfontdir script previously distributed separately. |

Although I wouldn't bother downloading any of the dated ones (unless you like wallpapers with old version numbers). |

While I agree that slackware themes and wallpapers would be nice, some of the logistics might be difficult. I'm thinking along the lines of author credit, or wallpapers that use copyrighted images, since anyone can pull images from the web and use gimp to add a slackware logo.
Either way it'll be a bit of work to vet a list of official wallpapers, and more work to design themes for the specific DEs and WMs that a new slackware will ship with (a list that's not quite clear yet). Perhaps you could start a community request to collect wallpapers and themes and put together a package that you could submit for inclusion? That is of course if Pat and team are interested in adding such a package to the official releases. Just my $0.02. Maybe we'll get a more official reply on the subject. |

On the copyright issue, it brings back bad memories of Disney coming in to Walnut Creek CDROM and drilling holes through thousands of CDs because someone had cued their lawyers in about a 128x128 GIF of Mickey Mouse included in some package's documentation as an example image. |
