MATE 1.10 and notify-sen

I want to use the notify-send in MATE 1.10 under Slackware 14.1 but it does not work. When I make the command "notify-send 'some text'" in the prompt it does not happen anything.
What do I make wrong or is it buggy?

I tested here on current and mate 1.12 and it worked
did you have libnotify installed?

Yes, the libnotify is installed:
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 1891 jan 10 2015 /var/log/packages/libnotify-0.7.5-i486-1

I'm sorry but i do not have 14.1 VM for MATE 1.10
Please try to upgrade to MATE 1.12 which is also available as well for 14.1

OK, I have tried out the followings:

1./ Xfce 4.12 notify-send works
2./ Mate 1.10 notify-send does not work
When I set up the "Notification settings" and after "Preview" I get the following error:
Error while displaying notification: GDBus.Error:org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.NoReply: Message did not receive a reply (timeout by message bus)
3./ Mate 1.12 notify-send works

good to know if mate 1.12 solved your problem :)

notify-send worked for me in 1.10 and it works in 1.12 too.

Cheers
