MATE 1.10 and notify-sen

I want to use the notify-send in MATE 1.10 under Slackware 14.1 but it does not work. When I make the command "notify-send 'some text'" in the prompt it does not happen anything.
What do I make wrong or is it buggy?

OK, I have tried out the followings:

1./ Xfce 4.12 notify-send works
2./ Mate 1.10 notify-send does not work
When I set up the "Notification settings" and after "Preview" I get the following error:
Error while displaying notification: GDBus.Errorrg.freedesktop.DBus.Error.NoReply: Message did not receive a reply (timeout by message bus)
3./ Mate 1.12 notify-send works
