hm.. i used the default .config from Slackware (i forgot which kernel version that i used. I think around 2.6.15) and i modified it by including ALSA and changing high memory support and also the processors and that's it. (well, some new questions arose when new kernels are being compiled as new features implemented).

After compiling 2.6.18, i don't need to install ieee80211 at all, just the firmware

I followed the instructions and managed to install the wifi card. I'm running wpa_supplicant with this command:

wpa_supplicant -i eth1 -c /etc/wpa_supplicant.conf -B -D wext

I can join the networks and browse the network perfectly. But, if for some reason, i need to stop wpa_supplicant, the systems hangs. I'm trying to kill the process with "killall wpa_supplicant". Any of you experienced the same?
