FF 3.5 in Slack 13 - NICE!

tomtomjkw 07-13-2009 03:51 AM

nice indeed, but:
Code:

/usr/lib64/firefox-3.5/run-mozilla.sh: line 131:  4774 Segmentation fault      "$prog" ${1+"$@"}

jdkaye 07-13-2009 03:57 AM

Why not try
Code:

/usr/lib64/firefox-3.5/firefox
For me run-mozilla.sh throws up an error but firefox (from the same folder) opens FFx3.5 normally.
cheers,
jdk

The Firefox artwork has been updated for Firefox 3.5, but the 'firefox.png' file in the 'slackware current' source package is still the old one.

It's still the old version in the source directory for Firefox 3.5.1 which has just appeared in 'Current'. How does one contact 'Slackware' to get the correct updated file in the source/package?.

Several people in the Slackware team read this forum, so maybe they have already read this and informed P. Volkerding. If not, you can also report the problem by contacting him directly by e-mail (volkerdi at slackware.com).

Edit: by the way, are you really sure this is not the new logo?

Edit again: it looks like it's definitely the new one:

Well the file datestamp of 'firefox.png' in the source directory is 11/10/06. The new Firefox logo, which first appeared in Firefox 3.5 as a release, was only developed during May/June 2009.

Whatever. Have you actually looked at the images?

Yes, and I think I am correct. In your image comparison, the image you label as 'new' is in fact the revision in 2006. The 2009 revisions are very different. For example, look at the shape of the 'tail':

Yep. I stand corrected. The comparisson is old. I didn't realize there had been a previous change. Your last link makes it very clear.
