Old feature restored - switching virtual desktops

I accidentally discovered that a long lost feature works again. With the mouse over an empty spot on the desktop, the scrollwheel switches virtual desktops. This feature stopped working years ago with a Qt upgrade.

I had previously posted about an issue upgrading from Plasma 5.25.5 to 5.26.0 with missing icons, the main desktop system panel being invisible and some non-functional settings of menus.

https://www.linuxquestions.org/quest...ml#post6386409

Just a quick follow up:

I had tested a clean slackware64 current install on a virtualbox VM as a test and had no issues. Everything is hunky dory.

I then proceeded to upgrade the second slackware64 current computer to Plasma 5.26.1 from 5.25.5 with no issues. Everything is as it should be.

Thus the conclusion there is something corrupted on the original current computer and the problem is local to the hardware / setup, and upgrading from 5.26.0 to 5.26.1 did not rectify the issues. creating a test user account with no X11 / KDE user setups did not rectify the issue. No joy.

A re-installation of X & KDE modules did not rectify the issues either.

I will need to do a clean install of the slackware64 current on the particular computer on the weekend.:(

Thank you all for the suggestions.

No , the conclusion is you no install kpipewire , requested by plasma-workspace package.

I got the same when updated, but i use a tool called slackyd , and then see kpipewire is a mandatory for 5.26 plasma.
When you downgrade from 5.25 no see the problem , cause 5.25 no need kpipewire.

People ever miss

slackpkg install-new , and later upgrade the rest of packages.
