About Slackware InstallDiscs and WiFi in Desktops...

Hey!

I am glad to see Slack 11 and will try as ssoon as I get an answer from this...

If I want to install everything BUT KDE(like in 10.2 just the first disc)...D I need Disc 2 or 3? or am I fine with disc one only?
Second...if I have a wireless PCI Card...do I follow the same procedure as if it was with a laptop wifi? I mean setting up ndiswrapper, etc.

Thanks!

I think it is disc 1 & 2...

The second thing depends on your card. But ndiswrapper is not a bad choice. Be aware that there may be some Drivers that you have to blacklist first (like Prism54 on my Laptop).
Some cards may run out-of-the-box...

Depending on the card, you could perhaps compile a linux driver for your card and bypass ndiswrapper entirely. My second desktop has a Linksys WMP54G (version 4), and I've just put Slackware 11.0. The Linksys has a Ralink rt2500 chipset. I downloaded the driver from here, compiled it, modprobed it, and edited the rc.inet1.conf and rc.wireless conf files in /etc/rc.d, and I was in business.
