no kernel?
i have mandrake 10.1 and i supposedly have no "usr/src/linux" does this mean i have no kernel?
|
No, it just means that you don't have the source for the kernel. you will have a kernel but it will be in binary form that can be read by your computer.
|
well, in a script it asks for linux source directory? and it gives /usr/src/linux as the default. what would i put instead for mandrake so i can use the ATMEL wireless drivers?
|
You should use that directory but you will need to install the kernel source, either your Mandrake kernel source or use a vanilla kernel from:
http://www.kernel.org |
A much better solution is merely to type
urpmi kernel-source at the root console prompt. |
