How to close a thread.
 

Please assist me in closing a thread in the forum Linux networking. I have posted in that thread saying that the thread w'd be closed but I find no link for the same.

you don't close threads. once you're finished with it, mark it as SOLVED (presuming it is) and enjoy the rest of your life :)

but it isn't solved, I am simply wishing to start a new one for clarity to viewers.

If it's about the exact same topic, you can either edit the first post to include more information or add the information in a new post.
