XMMS no sound

I can play C.D.s just fine but can't play any wav directory's or files,XMMS shows that is is playing the songs but no sound comes out,I checked everywhere to see if something was on mute and set everything about halfway,if someone could just lead me in the right direction,I have SuSE 9.0 and I use gnome, the sound works for everything except when I try to play any files on my H.D.thanks david

Do you use arts? Make sure that you have set XMMS to use the right output-plugin (Options->Audio IO Plugins>Output plugin).

Here is what it says when I try to run it in the Konsole"Unable to locate loadable module in module_path "libpixmap.so" thanks david

I don't think that libpixmap.so is the problem, as the guy in this thread has it all working.

Thanks meldar,I have tried to get it to work,it is most likely simple if only I knew where to start,is there another player I could try?david

This is something really simple but it may have been overlooked...

Try going to Options --> Preferences ---> Audio I/O Plugins tab. You should see a place for your Output Plugin. Make sure this is set correctly. If you are using ALSA for example, make sure you choose alsa. If you just recently installed alsa and it isn't appearing in your Output Plugin options, then try recompiling xmms.

Good to hear that you got it working. Lots of people have sound problems it seems.
