what gcc version do you have? maybe that has to do something with it, one time i think i had a similar problem and i had to get a newer version of gcc, and another time i didnt install the compilers hahaha, so try that, and if not look for further information

Try as root
I had this same problem and it was solved by configuring as root. Hope that helps.
