problems with"/lib/cpp" fails sanity check
 

Hi!
I'd like to run the newest version of Kopete.
I try to "configure" it. I get following error: "/lib/cpp" fails sanity check.

Please help me. What's wrong?.

"checking for g++... no" and the lines below suggest that you don't have a C++ compiler installed. You need to install the gcc-c++ package for your distribution.

I've got Mandrake 10.1 Community edition.
I've got installed following packages:
gcc2.96-cpp-2.96-0.83mdk
gcc-3.4.1-3mdk
gcc-cpp-3.4.1-3mdk

When I look for gcc in "Packages to be installed" there's nothing.
What else should I install?.

Hmm, why do you have two versions of GCC installed? What does

$ which g++

show you?

There is urpmi installed on my computer but when I try to type it in
bash: urpmi: command not found appears. What should I do?.

Perhaps it's only in root's path, so try running it as root.

There are posts in that thread talking about making symbolic links and installing the kernel source, maybe you could try those things as well.

OK, urpmi runs under root.
when I try "urpmi gcc gcc-cpp gcc-c++" I get: there's not package named gcc-c++.
What else can I do in this situation?.

Should I additionally install gcc-2.96 to gcc-3.4.1 that I already have?. Will it help in some way?.

It looks like you already have both versions installed. You might want to try making the symlink as directed in that other thread:

Maybe someone knows what to do. What packages should I install?.
I've got libstdc++dev. Maybe there are other packages that should be installed?.
