hmmmm, which mozilla version are you using? I'm pretty sure that with newer ones, if you go into a site which requires either flash or java, a window will popup asking if you wish to install the plugin... Well, if you still need to download it, 3 minutes of search at www.google.com/linux will be enough for you to find what you are looking for ;)

o yes i also forgot to say if this is needed i am useing mandrake linux 9.1

I have been trying to get java to work for several aggravating days. Those selfinstalles should work, but for me they are not. They install it and even put my the sybolic link in my plugins folder, but still does not work.
flash player installed very easily. You might want to try macromedia.com? I don't remember where exactly I downloaded it. |

An ongoing problem. Many times the symbolic link won't work because of permissions problems. I have always had no trouble creating the sybolic link from your home directory, using the full paths to the original file, and the full path to the place you want the link to go.
I usually do this as 'su' and there still aren't any permissions problems. If you don't do it from home and don't use the full paths, sometimes it doesn't work, and I think the rpm is creating a problem with this. So if you know where the plug-in file is located in Java (after the installation)...dump the link that was made FOR you, and make one yourself from your home directory as root. I'm not sure exactly why this makes a difference, but it seems to for my settup. |
