could not access GDM configuration file error
hi all,
couple of days back I updated Gnome 2.10 to 2.12 on my Fedora Core 4 distribution. After updating i am facing couple of problems which r as follow: 1) I cannot access the login screen utility in system settings menu. I tried to run 'gdmsetup' on console and received the following error: Could not access GDM configuration file. [root@c199b ahsan]# gdmsetup Could not access GDM configuration file. [root@c199b ahsan]# whereis gdm.conf gdm: /usr/sbin/gdm /usr/share/gdm /usr/share/man/man1/gdm.1.gz I tried to change the permissions of configuration file but it didn't help me out. can anybody tell me what can i do in this regard? Also after the upgradation I can't see the Trash icon on my KDE desktop. Please help me out! |
Do you encounter this problem when you edit gdm.conf using a text editor?
The trash icon in KDE disappear because it may have been deleted when you upgrade GNOME. Create another user, login to KDE with this user and KDE will automatically creat a new trash icon which |
