I'm not sure if I understand what you're trying to achieve. Are you trying to open a few text-based applications in a terminal? If so, you could use some terminal multiplexer (eg. screen, tmux)

Please don't open two threads on the same topic. If a given solution doesn't work you can continue in the former thread.
Also, please give information about the issues you have with the given solution.
