backing up a FreeBSD server

I posted this in the general forum, and then realized this is probably a better place for it. My apologies for the error.

I was asked if I could do a backup, or a clone, of several FreeBSD servers.

They are about six years old, so I don't know the actual version. The system runs on an ASUS MB, with a 3ware RAID controller, using 3 Drives. Don't know the raid level...

Not being fluent in linux, just able to get around and cope with what is there, I am not certain how to proceed in the most logical manner.

It would probably be acceptable, to just create a clone/backup onto a single hard drive, rather than being concerned with a clone of the raid configuration.

Any suggestions or recommends as to the proper direction, sort of running away :-) would be appreciated.

Thanks.

John
