hello,
i have the same problem like confused_user, i try to build a jail for the user. i had implimented the jail, but user can connect an snoping around all directories. can you help me |
Please give some details: what did you change to get the chroot jail? Why is it not working? Do you get any errors?
Does the /etc/password file contain the "/./" at the location of the jail? Did you follow all steps in the thread started by confused_user? If all you need is FTP access (ie file transfers), you can use chroot jails (and possibly also ssl features) of vsftpd as well. There's a restricted version of ssh (called rssh, if I'm not mistaken) too, but it may contain some security hazards still, so I don't recommend it. In any case, following the replies confused_user has gotten in his thread, you should be OK. |
