hello,
i have the same problem like confused_user, i try to build a jail for the user.
i had implimented the jail, but user can connect an snoping around all directories.
can you help me

Please give some details: what did you change to get the chroot jail? Why is it not working? Do you get any errors?
Does the /etc/password file contain the "/./" at the location of the jail?
Did you follow all steps in the thread started by confused_user?

If all you need is FTP access (ie file transfers), you can use chroot jails (and possibly also ssl features) of vsftpd as well.
There's a restricted version of ssh (called rssh, if I'm not mistaken) too, but it may contain some security hazards still, so I don't recommend it.
In any case, following the replies confused_user has gotten in his thread, you should be OK.
