super newbie and mandrake8.1
 

hi

i just installed mandrake 8.1 alongside windows, i used the lin4win command.

ok thing is when mandrake boots up i get a blue screen and nothing else apart from this box thing in the bottom right corner.

is it buggered? how do i do anything with it? god my heads going to explode..

mind you it looked ok when it was installing :)

i feel really bad for you. It looks like your like me, we don't know nada. I just hope I can install linux properly, after that its going to be a lot of work on my end to even begin to understand how to function in a linux operating system. I am scared.

i got a couple of things to pop up but its really hard :)

the only thing they have in common is the blue background, but the tutorial says this is what it will be like :confused:

Are you using KDE as your graphical interface? That's what is pictured in that screenshot.
