Printing not working

I'm using Mint Linux (Katya). My printer ran out of toner and I wasn't able to print jobs anymore (even after shaking the toner).

I replaced the toner cartridge but now it still says in the printer status that it is out of toner. I can't seem to reset it. I've rebooted my computer twice and I've rebooted the printer.

Does anyone know how I can totally reset the printer status?

Are you using CUPS to manage your printing? You may find something in the web interface panel.

Try powering off printer then power on.
Network printer or usb?

As suggested have you tried restarting the printer spooler via the CUPS browser interface?

I have gone into the CUPS server but did not see anything saying "restart service" or "restart spooler" or anything like that.

I moved the job to my other printer (which is also out of toner) reboot both the computer and the printer (off and on) and then moved the jobs back to the printer with the full toner again.

That didn't work so I moved the jobs out again and then tried to start new jobs and it didn't work.

I just rebooted my computer again and the Mint Notification thing says "MFC 7820N is out of toner". But it's not.

So the OS is not clearing the message for some reason... I would think that I need to manually reset the service or force the CUPS server to interface with the printer again to get the current status.

FYI - It is a network printer (IP).

Navigate to localhost:631/printers and select your printer. Is the there an error message or any indication that the queue is paused? If so see if you can restart it. Should be under maintenance pull down menu.

AMAZING! Thank you. I can't believe it was that simple. I was in that screen with the maintenance dropdown, but I didn't see the screen that showed "paused" so I didn't know that it needed to be resumed.
