You can end up breaking things if you run as root all the time, like you might accidentally delete something you shouldn't.

I just thought of carrying a shooting weapon with you -- locked or unlocked. You might even find it "cool" to put in your belt without safety bold (being root), but that's in the eye of the beholder :D

Maybe it's okay for you to work as root and you will get no problems, but prepare to reinstall and be your config files messed up. Forgetting the leading point once got me deleting all my /bin files (instead of ./bin) and I had no clue how to fix this. After this I decided to work as normal user and become root only if I need to.
