Knoppix 3.6 Not Booting Up
I have just downloaded Knoppix 3.6 from linuxiso.com. I burned it to a CD and poped it into the CD-Drive (Duh...). I restarted my computer, entered the bios and set it up so the CD-Drive stats first (Duh...). Then I restarted once more. When the Knoppix main menu poped up I hit enter (which I think I amd suppost to do to start it) and is started loading. Then a back screen starts up and I waited for 15 minutes and it still would not start up.
Does anyone know what the problem is? |
suggestions
1 run the md5sum against your downloaded iso and compare to the site's copy to ensure you have a complete iso. 2 black screen on a correct knoppix means you have attempted to load the X server or X windows or graphics to a card that is not yet known at that default setting. 3 boot your normal system and printout the knoppix cheat codes or download them then on reboot try a basic screen like 800 x 600 without framebuffer and see if you can get a screen.....if you can then play around until you get a readable text showing on boot up.....no need to wait for full boot up as its loading into ram so keep on hitting that warm reset button and try another resolution etc |
