Tell us more about your Internet connection please. Do you connect via cable or DSL modem? Does it use DHCP? What does the /var/log/messages and if set at boot /var/log/boot files tell you regarding the network card. Any errors should appear in one of those two files.

Because you might wan to try and use DHCP to see if that works? (Sep 18 14:43:38 linux dhcpcd[2086]: broadcasting DHCP_DISCOVER Sep 18 14:43:48 linux dhcpcd[2086]: timed out waiting for a valid DHCP server response Looks suspicious) what does the command ifconfig output as root? what happens whenyou try to ping somewhere? what happens when you: SuSEfirewall2 stop ping yahoo.com SuSEfirewall2 start ? |
cat /var/log/messages | grep SuSEfirewall2 | grep 'Sep 19'
and maybe cat /var/log/messages | grep SuSE-FW | grep 'Sep 19' |
Btw... do i have drivers installed in it? if it detects the card? or do i need to install them? if i need how?
|
What's the output of `ifconfig` on the box?

maybe you didn't configurate your gateway or dns servers. That could be the reason
|
oh... dunno how setup them i think... could you explain to me? i think i know but can you explain how do it...
|
You interface card is not being recognized. Or in not configured. Try looking in the file:
ifcfg-eth0 And putting in the correct setting from you ISP. What distro are you on? |
distro and whats that eth0 thing?
|
OK SuSE:
