Worst thread title combined with the least-informative post.

What error is it giving you?

acid_kewpie 10-02-2008 11:59 AM

Certainly a prize in there somewhere.

what sort of account is it even?

chrism01 10-02-2008 06:56 PM

... and to carry on the theme, which distro and whether GUI or CLI would have been handy...

jgallo 10-02-2008 07:07 PM

hmmm..double check the password..?

chrism01 10-02-2008 07:48 PM

if he's truly a newbie he/she might not realize Linux is case sensitive... but really more info would be better.

acid_kewpie 10-03-2008 02:55 AM

and who said Linux was even involved in any of this at all?

chrism01 10-03-2008 03:03 AM

acid_kewpie 10-03-2008 07:57 AM

Well using what?? What kind of password is this??

indienick 10-03-2008 08:42 AM

lufc4eva2008, if you could please answer the following questions, then perhaps we may very well be able to formulate an appropriate response, complete with reparation instructions:
  1. Which Linux (or BSD, or UNIX) distribution are you using, and which version?
  2. What user name are you trying to use to gain administrative access to the machine?
  3. Do you have any non-root user accounts set up (complete with password)?
  4. If you are getting any error messages, please write them out here, VERBATIM (exactly as you see it, including spacing and symbols).
  5. Please do not modify the original post, and when posting answers to these questions, or any other posts for that matter, just write a new post. Modifying should only be for editorial purposes.

EDIT: Even if you are using Mac OS X, we can still help, as OS X is the Darwin branch of the BSD family. :)

Like some one said earlier, there are still no valuable proofs that he/she's problems are linked with linux in anyways. For all we know he/she may be just trying to use a simple ATM card. Or may be he/she is just playing with us. 2 posts since the original one and it looks as if he can't be bothered to read the questions that was asked back in order to help solve the problem...

indienick 10-03-2008 09:01 AM

Fair enough - at least no one can say I didn't try. ;)
