Connecting to printer via LAN

Hi everyone,
Can you help? I am trying to connect my Acer Webbook to a printer that is connected to my desktop PC. The webbook accesses the web via a router and I want to be able to print remotely from it. I am not really computer literate so please not too many acrinims if it can be avoided.
Many thanks
Tony

First lets see if cups is installed. Cups = common unix printing system. Open up a browser and type http://localhost:631. This will take you through a site that will assist you with the setup of your printer. Just make sure that the printer is already shared out on the other workstation.
