choose windows manager
hello ,
i have just install debian woody and i don't understand configurations files ... in /etc/inittab , even i make defaultinit to 2,3 or 5 , XDM run when i start my computer ... i founded a file in /etc/X11/ that is call "default-display-manager" (i think) and i put a comment in line that it give binary XDM directory ... So , now , WDM don't run at startup but i think is little strong to do it , don't it ? :confused: the most important is that i want to lunch my desirered windows manager when i run startx but i don't see anywhere what kind of file i have to change to make it possible ... :cry: even , i try to make .xinitrc in ~/(myuser)/ with this line : exec fvwm but it dosen't work to .... so , please help me !!:cry: |

If you're using startx you don't need to use the XDM/GDM/KDM programs. Reset inittab to the level where you log in at the command line.
Make .xinitc run the window manager you want. |

I founded configurations files in "/etc/X11/xsession.d/" it's work now !!!! :) |
