ACPI error at the end of boot; how to delete that error?
Hello,
know anybody how to delete that error at the end of dmesg? If was not here before I installed the fglrx instead of the radeon driver. Dmesg: Code:

You don't have to delete that error and in fact you can't.
And whether the produced error has to be worried about that I don't know. If everything is working nice then it may be ignored. Or wait for other wise guys to post something. |

- dump the table from where this ID (ATPX) comes from (acpidump -o tables.dat) - disassemble it (iasl -da ...) - find the piece where it happen - fix it accordingly - assemble table back (iasl ...) - create initrd with this new table attached (see Documentation/acpi/initrd_table_override.txt for the details) - boot with new initrd |
Based on your error message, it seems like it's just an informational message rather than what I'd call an actual error message. So I wouldn't worry about it, unless, and as said, something isn't working properly/at all.

For the reason the PC dont have sound anymore, I am looking close at it again. Thanks! |
It's not unusual to get ACPI errors from an old PC or one that has a flawed BIOS. Your GX280 is old. Did you ever update its BIOS? Mine has installed A08.

This is a Hewlett-Packard HP Compaq dc7100 USDT(DX877AV)/0980h, BIOS 786C1 v02.15 08/07/2008
Perhaps it makes no sense to try to further dig? It works all fine; just no sound; perhaps due to another issue than ACPI. |

I sold that PC to a guy who was happy to install Win XP on it ;-)
(I bought a replacement HP 600G4). I did not ask for much money. |
