Slack 9.1 Networking issue
I'm a recent emmigrant of FC1 and this is my first experience with anything else besides it. When I had to configure my VIA Rhine II ethernet card on Fedora, it involved nothing at all. I know that setting up my connection on Slack does involve a bit of terminal work, but I don't know where to start. I've tried a few HOWTO guides to no avail, so I'm asking if anyone can help me out on this one. |
Some commands to get you started
ifconfig (will tell you if your nic is up) ifconfig eth0 up (will bring your nic up) dhcpcd -r (dhcp will try to pick up an ip) edit: netconfig (to configure your nic) |
I'll reply shortly with the outcome.
*EDIT* Well Jarib, that helped a great deal. I did just as you said and things turned out fine, thankyou. |
