Setup dual dial-up modem?

does anyone know how to setup two dial-up modem running in redhat linux9 concurrently with one account?

With one account I dont think you can.

Normally you can only login to an isp account once.

how abt connect using two different account?

DavidPhillips 01-02-2004 02:51 AM

yes, multilink does work if the server on the other end also supports it.

Actually it would be one account, it would be known as a multilink account.

I'm not aware of any that are available.

You would setup two dialup connections

ppp0 and ppp1

add this line to /etc/ppp/options

multilink

or this

mp

after added the line "multilink" or "mp" to file /etc/ppp/options...will it can dial-up to the internet using two connections concurrently?

DavidPhillips 01-02-2004 04:32 AM

I believe you would dial the one first, say ppp0, then after it is connected and shows up in ifconfig you would dial the second one with multilink in it's options.
