Linux Mint 20 is a big let down?

I gave up Linux Mint from the of 19.3 when they took Gimp and VLC out. I stayed with 19.2 and upgraded to 19.3 so I still had Gimp and VLC.

Just tried to upgrade to 20 but was surprised to find I could not upgrade. I therefor had to make space with Gparted be sure where it would actually go. Watched the installation and was pleased to see Gimp was advertised as having been installed.

Imagine my surprise to find it had not been. I am sticking now with Windows 12 Lite and MakuluFlash with 3d and wobbly windows.

Anybody can tell me why they still insist on 2 GB. It took ages to install whereas windows 12 lite installs in 15 minutes.

Perhaps someone can tell me what features will I be missing by not returning to the mint devotees?

HOT/in-place upgrade form 19.3 to 20.0 are available on the mint website.

GIMP is not installed by default, but IS available for install from the repos. It took me about 2 minutes. (and for half of that I was starting my coffee and not paying attention, so it might have been faster.)

Yes that is the problem everyone has Gimp by default and Mint 19.2 was the last time they had it. In 20 they did not even see fit to remove it from the installation slides.

Worst still you cannot upgrade anymore from 19.3 to 20 and that is a not very clever decision.

Oh not this again!

And there's no such thing as windows 12 - except maybe that Linux distro with a Windows 10 wallpaper that you used to promote to get people to use your ad-infested site?

Heck, i reported you just to be sure.

It's a version of linux lite OS with a windows theme. Lite is based on Ubuntu and supposed to be a bridge OS for Windows users to switch over... lite does have a rather "ropey" looking website but it is legit.

It is supposed to have similar software as Windows but I don't know what repositories it uses nor available packages. I would guess the "app store" has a list of available programs.

You can download it free from Windows12shop.com

It uses the same repositories as Ubuntu from which it is made.

Why do you say that? I specifically mentioned that I did find instructions for the 19.3 to 20 upgrade in place on the site. As for Gimp, are you saying that ou cannot invest the two minutes to install GIMP after the Linux install finishes?

If I recall correctly. OP has already created a few threads where a question or rant is posted, then all of a sudden he's strongly recommending his own "Windows" distros as the best OS to solve non-existent problems.

It's probably all fine and good until Microsoft finds out :D

It is OP's site.
It would require some deep digging into bscho's numerous ranting threads, but the proof is there. I remember.
And it looks legit only superficially. I invite you to try to find an actual download link for the actual ISO. All I could find were links going in cirles and big green DOWNLOAD buttons for Windows cleaning snakeoil software.

This makes OP a spammer, albeit a weird one.
Regularly trying to boost their ranking with threads like these.

Guess the button on the front page is not big enough for you with 8 languages maybe you do not speak English.
