Network driver not avaiable anywhere to configure network on hp pavilion dv6000

I have hp pavilion dv6000 and installed redhat linux 4 with 2.6.9.22 kernel , i have tried all the options to get up on a network but lost hope.
I am able to self ping but i have observed that in the file modprobe.conf i have noticed that the against eth0 its shows unknown driver.so therefore i concluded that this intel pro/100 ve network connection does not work on redhat linux 4 and on hp pavilion dv6000 laptop.
can anyone please help me to find a driver or give me a fix . its been annoyingly a week now that i am trying .

thanks in advance.

In this situation you have 2 options. 1: update your kernel. 2: download the latest driver source code and compile it yourself.
Code:

lsmod
will show you which modules you have loaded. Post the output. regardless of which option you choose we'll need to know which module RH is loading.
