installing linux from downloaded iso file

Hi i downloaded iso file of linux from ftp://192.26.91.193/Linux/packages/y...D_20081119.iso ... I burnt the iso file to dvd using nero-7 express.. And made my pc's first boot device to dvd..

But i could not boot from dvd.. My laptop is dell inspiron-1525.. how do i solve this problem?

I am new to linux... And want to install it.

The link you tried to post is for a very old PPC distribution of Linux. That means it's for a computer that uses a PowerPC CPU (like an old Macintosh). You should go to the home page for a modern mainstream distribution, like Ubuntu or Fedora as your first Linux experience.
