I just installed redhat linux 9.0 on my compaq 2500 and I am now having trouble getting the cd/dvd and floppy drives to work or even to be recognized..? The installation went pretty well with a few exceptions. Is there any way to just manually put the drives in with out the use of the internet.

Anyway, um. Your supposed to include hardware specs, tell us what KIND of CD/DVD/Floppy you have.

Red-Hat wont detect the drivers correctly for certain Compaq drives, and your s sounds like one of them. I never could get mine to work, but it works fine in Mandrake:)
