Old school All in Wonder support?

Good afternoon, I just put together a dedicated linux box to hone my skills and the only videocard I had lying around is my original ATI All in Wonder with 8MB of RAM. I'm curious if there is any way of getting dri working with this card and at least the possibility of getting the TV tuner or video in working? Thanks for any help you can give.

heathpitts 07-06-2004 08:16 PM

Go to http://gatos.sourceforge.net/

They have drivers for getting tv input working on a lot of All-In-Wonder cards. However, I couldn't get the ATI.2 driver to compile under debian stable or testing running either a 2.4 or 2.6 kernel. If you do get it to compile, please post how you accomplished it.

kaltag 07-06-2004 10:34 PM

I downloaded their ati.2 binary driver for xfree 4.3 but I'm not sure if it's going to work since I'm using x.org as part of slackware 10. At any rate I followed their less than helpful instructions and nothing worked. X still comes up fine like it did before but there are errors in the x.log file about the drivers. I get a complaint from xawtv that there is no /dev/video0 too. I have enabled video for linux but with no driver selected because nothing in the list matched what I have and recompiled the kernel. Apparently that didn't do anything for me. Anyone else tried these yet and gotten anything? km fails to build as well.

edit: here is the x.log file
