MSI 6600GT Not Detected, SuSE 9.2 x86_64

Newb to Linux here. Computer specs are:

Athlon 64 2800+
DFI Lanparty NF3
MSI NV6600GT AGP

SuSE 9.2, Mandrake 10.1, and Knoppix don't recognise my video card. I've done a clean format a few times, trying different distros, none of which found it. I'm back on SuSE 9.2 64bit now and want to work it out. Therefore I think drivers are a nonissue since I can't get SuSE to find the card.

Kernel: 2.6.8-24-default

The error in Knoppix Live CD during boot was:

Any ideas? I couldn't find any similar threads, as most people have problems installing the drivers, not having the card detected. The card is properly installed (I built it myself), and is properly recognised and working in XP.

So I guess this means I'm SOL on new hardware?

Do you have nvidia's drivers installed? If you do you will need version 6629 or latter.

I had them installed before, even had the nVidia logo come up briefly, but in SaX2 the card never showed up, even upon reprobing (6629 drivers, 2nd package). I noticed new drivers were just released, and I suppose I could install them...

I believe that you can install this Vid Card from the nVidia web site.
I think it uses something like YOU. = Yast O(something) U(something)

Worth a look.
