Any help would be appreciated. |
Hi Chaitanya,
I had this issue once - running 'aumix' and pushing the mixer bar higher made the sound work alright. Then ofcourse you run 'alsamixer' and push the volume as high as possible. If you are logging in the gui then right click on the speaker icon and you will find all the previously mentioned settings in a nice gui enviorment. But first make sure that the physical connections are ok. Try playing music with a live medium if possible. I think this issue is because of migration from oss to alsa to pulseaudio (may have missed something in between). Hope this helps. |
Now the issue is bit different. I have the same hardware but an upgrade to Maverick Meerkat 10.10. Sound now works with speakers but it does not work with headphone jacks plugged in. The laptop speakers get muted when I plug in the headphones but theres no sound at all. Also, I have noticed that when using skype, the built in camera works fine, but not the sound. There is no way I can have skype calls with headphones which I need to do oftenly for work. And everything works fine with windows.. Grrr...
