Acpi, Wtf?
Eversynce I install MDK91, before I had MDK82 I have an option to enable ACPI?
So should I? And whats it good for anyway? |
ACPI stands for "Advanced Configuration and Power
Interface". It is the successor to APM "Advanced Power Management". The best site for learning about ACPI is probably: http://www.acpi.info/ It will enable you to turn off monitors etc when not in use. Whether you want to use it is up to yourself. It can be more ecconomical and also save some harware in the event of power failures. |
But I have it disabled and monitor still does shut down after 10minutes which I set in "kcontrol"
|
So is there anyother point to use ACPI in linux?
ps. Tanx for the link but I already know plenty of what ACPI is! I had lots of problems with it in WinXP! |
Make sure you have disabled any bios power options as well.
