What is X-11?
 

I was on Tucows Linux site and saw a lot of referances to X-11. Does anyone here know what X-11 is or what it refers to?

X11 is the graphical portion of Linux and other *nix environments. It is referred to as X, X11, X11R6, XFree86, X Windows and X Windowing System with (almost) equal regularity, although strickly speaking 'X Windows' is incorrect (I think). It's the X windowing system that is used in linux and unix go to www.x.org for all the gory details
