screenshot?

I feel like such an idiot.. I've been using linux for quite a while now, and I don't know how to take a screenshot! I've tried Prt Scr, Shift + Prt Scr, but when I go into The Gimp and do Paste, it doesn't paste my desktop.. what am I doing wrong?! :confused:

Did I mention that I feel like a idiot??:rolleyes:

trying to use printe screen key for a start. just do it directly in gimp, or try an app like xwd

The Gimp's Acquire -> Screenshot worked superbly.. thanks for the suggestion... I had no clue it did that! lol

Type in a terminal:

$ import -w root cl8.png

A webcam shot of your desktop is a valid screenshot as well. But, don't expect the resolution to be all that great. :-D

Ow Yeah!

But I don't use KDE, because I have a Celeron 400 :eek:

In the Gnome >= 2.x you can type:

$ gnome-panel-screenshot
