Is is always a pleasure to help. You see, I'm a newbie myself... well, not that newbie, in a few weeks I'm taking the Level1: System Administration test (you can read more about it on www.linuxcertifications.org) Bur I have a lot to learn and I think everyone is a newbie unless they've destroyed and repaired a few times an installation.

Having these kind of problems is what make me want to take this test... perhaps you too would be intrested, it is a 500 pages book you have to read (it includes excercises) and even if you don't takethe exam reading the book will teach you a lot of things.

I am now digitalizing this book, when it is ready I'll post the address in a thread since I think it is a book every system administrator should have. Perhaps it isn't legal, but I still have to read the license of use... Anyway, there are a lot of good tutorials on the web.
