Mandrake 8.1 ( Sync. Out of Range)
 

hello all need your help please. I just loaded Mandrake 8.1. All went well till reboot now I have this message bouncing across my monitor Samtron 78DF "Sync. Out Of Range". Does anyone have an Idea as to what I can do to get it in Sync. Please put in laymens terms as I am new to Linux. Thanks to any and all who are willing to offer solutions:)

does the linux startup happen, like the screen where all that technical junk scrolls down?

if so and it fails after that then it maybe a x windows problem which mighten be easy to fix, you may want to install mandrake again and tell it to startup in text mode or not install x windows.

Thank you nikah. I did reinstall about 1am this morning using the expert setup in this mode I was able to set the resolution to 800X600 and all works well so far. I will be asking questions quite frequently as I am a linux newbie. Thanks again.:D
