make world

What does this command do??

#make world

Thanks

acid_kewpie 05-07-2003 07:23 AM

runs the make following the procedure defined by the "world" section in the Makefile.... you've provided no other useful information though so can't really say much else....

If you're refering to FreeBSD, it's the procedure for rebuilding your entire system from source (if you type the command in /usr/src).

I supposed that in no way to set it back, i meen to un'make world???

llama_meme 05-07-2003 08:53 AM

You could cvsup down to an earlier version of the source and then make world again.

Can u be more specific on how to do it?? pleaze...

I have a freebsd 4.7

thanks

llama_meme 05-07-2003 02:27 PM

Well if u have FreeBSD 4.7, why would you want to downgrade?? If anything, you'd want to upgrade to 4.8.

See the handbook for detailed instructions on how to do this stuff.
