Just wondered what with the cost of stuff obviously being too expensive for the people in India and other countries if ironically the original blank tee-shirts and stuff have been manufactured in one of those countries.

I just thought it would be quite ironic if it was so.

You never know right. To most Americans these items are that expensive but the cost of living and goods range all over the world from one another. I mean in New York a hotdog might cost you 5 bucks, down here in Texas its 2 bucks.
Nike has industries over in Asia where they pay their workers a fraction of a dollar in some cases, over here we have standards set by our government as a minimum wage of nothing under 6 dollars an hour..

So yeah, what's expensive some places can be considered cheap others.

Just came across this thread. Noticed some chatter about stuff being too expensive for those in India.
So, that shouldn't be the case for too much longer, what with so many companies here in the U.S putting people out of work here and moving their operations to India.

Let's try to keep this on topic ;) It's a thread about linux merchandise, if you wish to discuss ANYTHING else (even if you feel it's 'related' ;) ) please do so in the appropriate forum for the topic.

Thank You!

itsjustme 08-08-2003 06:15 PM

OK.... Sorry about that.

Hey, I did order 2 shirts!

Uh oh... small nitpick about the baseball shirt. CafePress shows it with the Linuxquestions.org logo on the back. Mine is on the front. No biggie I guess.

Also, they must be making a killing on the caps. I got a Mozilla cap, which I'm sure is the same cap as all the other logo'ed caps there. It was $14.99 for about a $2.00 cap. At least, from a guy with lots of caps, that was my first impression. A no name brand cap.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not completely disappointed to where I would send anything back.

I hope most of the proceeds go to the organization with the logo.

regards...

Ok, the LQ logo on the front seems right now. It's better on the front. Especially when the cute cashier at Wal Mart says, "Hey, I like your shirt." :D
