GParted and QTParted are both good. GParted comes on a bootable CD, QTPArted is on the Knoppix live cD, and can also be installed directly. It is in the repositories for a lot of distros.

Don't know what to do with this:

Any app will work with Gnome or KDE if you install the right libraries. The package manager takes care of this.

i installed QTParted, but somehow i can't resize the partitions i want to resize... or is there a way to do so anyway ?

It seems to be the primary partitions i can't resize.

Could somebody tell me a way to resize the primary partitions please?
