hello guys,

i am very impressed by deepin, but i constantly run into minor UI & configuration flaws.

is there a possibility to submit suggestions on how to improve the experience by just adjust some small tweaks?

if the UI is in HTML5, is it possible to contribute without being able to communicate in chinese?

cheers and keep up the good work!

I've tried Deepin OS too, and think it has potential to become something very good for anyone who wants to move over to Linux. The trouble is that getting documentation and support is a little frustrating and since it's being developed in China there is a small language barrier. I hope that eventually it improves to a point where more people who don't have much Linux experience can use it, but it's a huge task that will take time. Forums like LQ definitely can help make it happen.

Hello,

First I'd like to say that Deepin is what finally convinced me to switch my home laptop onto Linux, and so far I'm enjoying it and enjoying learning but my knowledge is still fairly minimal. Linux questions has also helped me out many many times. I have a couple of minor issues I'd like some help with though please:

1. Deepin Movie is great, but for one thing that's annoying me, and Google hasn't been able to help! When playing a video file, the current time, and a status bar showing the progress of the movie is displayed up the top right hand corner, and I simply cannot fathom how to remove it. There's certainly no option in the GUI. Why is this even a default thing?

2. I'm unable to install VLC player. Bear in mind, this was one of the first things I tried to install, shortly after grabbing the Deepin ISO last week. It complains about failed dependancies:

"problem occurred when analyzing dependencies for VLC. Installation aborted"

When attempting to run from command line, this is what I get:

sudo apt-get install vlc browser-plugin-vlc

Thanks!
